WINDS INCREASE AS PRESSURE FALLS….

Pressure began to drop yesterday afternoon
bringing a partly cloudy and moderate wind day
to Great Blue Hill. Around 8:00 A.M. yesterday
the wind shifted from the north to the south and
temperatures began rising through the afternoon
and into the night with a high of 45F at midnight.
Temperatures continue to be on the rise
with an unseasonable high of 58F by 1:00 P.M. today.
This is 13 degrees above the daily normal of 45F.
The wind shifted today around 11:00 A.M. from
the south to the west. Winds have been moderate
to strong after yesterday’s light wind day.
We have had a peak gust so far today of 32 kts
(37 MPH) from the WNW. The wind has been frequently
gusting to 30 kts (35 MPH) after 12:00 P.M. today.
In the morning the sky was mostly cloudy with a
mixture of altocumulus and altostratus. Clearing
in the afternoon with a few cumulus and altocumulus
clouds. Visibility has increased throughout the day
but a distant haze lingered into the afternoon
limiting visibility to 60 miles.
