CLOUDS AND PERIODS OF FOG DOMINATE TODAY AS WE AWAIT MORE RAIN….
We started the day once again with an undercast. This undercast
did lift during the mid morning hours shrouding the Hill in fog
for a time. By early this afternoon the fog has lifted, but an
overcast deck is left behind as our next system approaches.
Temperatures have been gradually rising through the 40s, with
readings reaching near 50F early this afternoon.
The wind was a bit busy overnight, but has become quite light as
we move through the daylight hours. The average speed for the day
is around 8mph, however for the past couple of hours, the average
has only been around 4-5mph. The peak gust for the day so far
occurred just before 1am and was 18mph.
Visibility has been variable again today. We could see 40 miles
above the undercast early this morning, but then dropped to less
than 1/4 mile for a time later this morning as the undercast lifted.
It has improved to around 50 miles early this afternoon however
in most quadrants, however it’s still limited in areas where fog
continues to linger.
The maximum temperature so far today is 50F degrees, this is 13
degrees above the normal high of 37F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 39F degrees, this is 17 degrees above the normal low
of 22F.
