HEAVY RAIN, FLASH FLOODS ENTER THE REGION

By the 1:00 PM EST observation less than 1 inch
total of rain had fallen since early this morning,
with other areas south and west receiving significantly
more. Some areas of Long Island, NY, saw more
than one foot of rainfall in less than 6 hours.

Winds have picked up here at Blue Hill as well,
with winds gusting routinely above 30 MPH from
mid morning into the early afternoon. A peak
of 38 MPH had been recorded on the ASOS system
by the time of this report.
