A SPECTACULAR JULY DAY WITH A CRISP CLEAR AIR MASS IN PLACE….
What a treat today! Sunshine has been in control most of the
day, however high thin cirrus clouds are overspreading the
area this afternoon as the high pressure that crested over the
region this morning begins to move off to the east. The cirrus
represents the leading edge of a warmer air mass heading for
us for the rest of the week.
Temperatures today have again been below normal levels for this
time of year with readings in the upper 70s. The real treat is
the dew point which has dropped a bit from the mid 50s to around
50 early this afternoon, making the air feel quite refreshing.
The wind has been fairly light today, even going calm for a time
this morning as the high was directly overhead. The average
speed for the day so far is around 7mph. The peak gust so far is
18mph, which occurred just after 12:30pm.
Visibility has been exceptional, especially for this time of
year. The view has been holding at around 80 miles all day!
The maximum temperature so far today is 77F degrees, which is
5 degrees below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 55F degrees, which is 9 degrees below the
normal low of 64F.
