TROPICAL STORM ISAIAS BRINGS HIGH WINDS AND A LITTLE RAIN…

Before we dive into the events of today, just want
to confirm that we established a new record high
minimum for yesterday. The low for the day was 75
degrees. This broke the previous record of 74
degrees set in 2018.

As for today, the big story has been the effects
of Tropical Storm Isaias. We started the morning
very quiet with just increasing clouds and light
wind. As we reached the late morning hours, we
started to see a gradual increase in wind out of
the southeast.

Winds continued to ramp up especially mid to late
afternoon. A peak gust of 67 mph was measured at
4:06 P.M. Frequent gusts over 50 mph have continued
into the early evening hours.

The 67 mph gust is also a new record peak gust for
the day. The previous record was 48 mph SW in 1974.

A period of rain moved through as well late this
afternoon, bringing less than a quarter inch.

The high today is 84 degrees. This is 3 degrees
above the daily normal high of 81F. The low since
midnight is 72F, which is 9 degrees above the
daily normal low of 63F.
