PLENTY OF SUNSHINE AND BREEZY WITH WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES….
Today has been another nice day with plenty of sunshine mixed
with only a few clouds for a time this morning. The big deal
for today are the well above normal temperatures which is quite
a treat (as opposed to a trick) for this time of year.
Temperatures started the day on the mild sided with readings in
the mid to upper 40s (normal low for today’s date is 39F). With
plenty of sunshine and a warming air mass in place, readings
rose quickly into the low 60s by late this morning, and mid to
upper 60s early this afternoon. Dew point values have also been
on the rise, from the upper 40s early this morning to the low
50s by early this afternoon. Definitely a significant change
from values in the 20s and 30s over the previous couple of days.
Winds have been on the busy side as well, generally out of the
southwest and west-southwest. The average speed for the day so
far is around 14mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 31mph,
which occurred just before 10:30am this morning.
Visibility has been somewhat limited today, first due to thin
fog early this morning, and then due to general haziness. The
view has been 30-40 miles so far today.
The maximum temperature so far today is 67F, which is 11 degrees
above the normal high of 56F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 47F, which is 8 degrees above the normal low of 39F.
