BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2017
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

DRY, WARM, AND PLEASANT CONDITIONS CONTINUE

With high pressure in the area clear and dry conditions
continue. The sky remained mostly clear with few to scattered
cirrus clouds at each observation. The day started with a
partial undercast layer NNE-SE. This undercast layer obstructed
visibility to an 1/8 mile NNE-SE and 45 miles SE-NNE at the
7:00 AM EST observation. A distant haze kept visibility at
45 miles during the 10:00 AM EST observation, but visibility
increased to 70 miles by 1:00 PM EST. Temperatures continue
to be above seasonable with a high of 71F by 1:00 PM EST.
This is 11 degrees above the normal of 60F for this day.
Winds from the SSW picked up later in the morning with gust
up to 28 MPH.
