Another overcast day yesterday, October 4, makes
for 5 consecutive days without sunshine, starting
with September 30. After early morning drizzle
yesterday morning brought 0.02 inch of precipitation
showers began during the afternoon and continued into
the mid-evening. There was about a 20-minute downpour
during the evening and one clock hour had 0.18 inch.
This brought the total for the day to 0.30 inch and the
month now up to 2.27 inches.
After a very sunny month of September with 67%
of the possible bright sunshine (August had 70%)
there was no sunshine this month into early
afternoon today, October 4.
SEPTEMBER OFFICIALLY CAME TO A CLOSE AS THE
DRIEST SEPTEMBER ON RECORD AT BLUE HILL OBSERVATORY,
SURPASSING A 100 YEAR OLD RECORD
