OVERCAST AND CHILLY DAY WITH LIGHT WIND….

Not much to write home about today as it’s been a rather tranquil day
full of cloud cover, a lot of virga, chilly temperatures, and light wind.

An Alberta Clipper is approaching the region which is the reason for
all the clouds today. Light snow showers have been trying to move in,
and have been successful in areas to our south and west. However very
dry air aloft over central and eastern Massachusetts has prevented any
from getting here so far. Instead we’ve been observing a lot of virga
in the sky to this point.

A testament to the dry air, the dew point has been holding in the
upper teens all day.

As mentioned the wind has been quite light today, a big difference
from yesterday for sure. The average speed for the day so far is only
around 10mph. The peak gust thus far is only 22mph, which occurred in
the wee hours of the morning, just before 3 A.M.

Visibility has been decreasing a bit to around 60 miles early this
afternoon after spending the morning around 70 miles.

Temperatures are once again below normal with a high so far today
of 36F, 10 degrees below the normal max of 46F. The low since midnight
is 24F, 6 degrees below the normal low of 30F.
