FOR THE AFTERNOON….

Yesterday we netted 0.04 inches of total rain for the day, despite
the frequency of the showers. Today we started dry with scattered
clouds and plenty of blue sky. Clouds increased by mid morning and
light precipitation has occurred on and off throughout the day.
Even with the frequency of today’s showers we only had a trace of
precipitation.

Adding in the blustery northwest wind, it has felt damp, raw, and
not what we’d like for early May. High temperatures are tracking
more than 10 degrees below normal. By the early afternoon conditions
were trending dry but still remained chilly with the gusty wind.

Temperatures hovered in the lower 40’s throughout much of the
day. By the early afternoon the temperature started to increase
quickly, reaching around 51F by 1pm. Dew points were in the upper
30’s and then dropped to the lower 30’s by the afternoon.

Winds were steady this morning but have increased quite a bit
since the late morning. Winds today have been mostly out of the
northwest, bringing an added chill to the air. The average so far
for the day is 13mph. The peak gust so far today is 35mph, which
occurred just before 11am.

Visibility was around 40-50 miles throughout the morning and
improved to 70 miles by the early afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 51F degrees, which is 12
degrees below the normal high of 63F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 41F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the normal
temperature of 44F.
