MORE CLOUDS THAN SUN TODAY, BUT PLEASANTLY MILD AS WE WELCOME SPRING…

We started the day with dense fog on the summit, but by mid morning
the fog lifted and we did get a period of sunshine. However, the
heating from the sun helped to pop cumulus/stratocumulus clouds which
have now overtaken the sky early this afternoon.

The temperature did make it into the low 60s before dropping back
a bit with the loss of sunshine early this afternoon.

Winds were light most of the morning, but have been picking up a bit
into early this afternoon. The average speed for the day so far is
around 8mph. A gust to 23mph has been the peak thus far occurring
just before the 1 P.M. observation.

Visibility has improved greatly since this morning. Starting the day
with visibility as low as 1/16th of a mile, we can now see upwards to
80 miles this afternoon.

The high so far today is 62F, which is 17 degrees above
the normal maximum of 45F. The low since midnight is 44F, which is
16 degrees above the normal minimum of 28F.
