TROPICAL STORM HENRI BRINGS SOME RAIN AND WIND TO BLUE HILL…

Tropical storm Henri approached and moved into southern New England
today, bringing periods of rain and gusty winds to the region.

0.15″ of rain was measured at 7 A.M. this morning, with an additional
0.63″ falling by 1 P.M. The storm through 1 P.M. stands at 0.78″. A
feeder band rolled through between 7 A.M. and 8 A.M. with heavy rain.
0.45″ of rain fell in that hour alone.

Gusty winds also moved through with frequent gusts between 35-45mph
being observed from mid morning into the early afternoon hours. The
peak gust so far is 47 mph! This actually has set a new record peak
gust for today’s date, beating the old record of 44 mph set in 1987!

The high so far today is 74F, 6 degree below the daily normal maximum
of 80F. The low so far today is 66F, which is 4 degrees above the daily
normal minimum of 62F.
