SOME FILTERED SUNSHINE THIS MORNING BEFORE CLOUDS FILL IN….

A stratus overcast was over the summit as the sun rose, which
quickly dissipated thereafter. Through the remainder of the morning,
cirrus occupied a good portion of the sky, allowing for some filtered
sunshine. Thereafter, the high level clouds thickened, along with
the development of mid level clouds, thus limiting sunshine into
the early afternoon.

Temperatures are seasonable, with the low this morning being in the upper
50s. Since then, we have climbed into the mid 70s. The dew point has fallen
from the low 60s back into the mid 50s.

Winds have been very light, especially since late morning. The
average speed thus far is only 6mph. The flow was out of the north for much
of the morning, but around 11am it shifted and is now out of the south.
The peak gust took place around 4am this morning, with a value of only 15mph.

Visibility was poor this morning due to fog on the summit, but as the
low clouds have dissipated, the views have improved up to 40 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 75F, which is 1 degree below
the normal high of 76F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 58F,
which is 1 degree below the normal low of 59F.
