DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

HIGH PRESSURE MOVES OFFSHORE
A strong temperature inversion trapped thick fog approximately 200 feet below
the summit this morning obscuring much of the features below. Horizontal visibility
was 70 miles but decreased in sectors as the fog lifted in late morning. Skies
were mostly cloudy with cirrostratus all day and stratocumulus in the early
afternoon.
The high pressure which gave us dry conditions during the week has moved offshore
causing station pressure to fall throughout the day. Dew points continued to rise,
reaching the upper 50s today. Winds picked up in the early afternoon and have been
out of the south since late last evening. Temperatures reached a max of 69F, but
started falling with increasing cloud cover.
