WARMER AND HAZY WITH INCREASING CLOUDS

Yesterday’s thunderstorm brought Great Blue Hill 0.16 ins. of rain
yesterday in about 15 minutes. This puts us at 1.63 ins. of rain
above normal for the month of June, and 4.31 ins. of rain above
normal for 2017. The storm produced a peak gust of 48 MPH out of
the north at 2:14 P.M. EST. This is the highest peak gust measured
at Blue Hill since March 14, 2017 (60 MPH during a nor’easter).

Yesterday, a maximum temperature of 78F was reached. With an average
temperature of 66F, yesterday was 2F warmer than normal. Today, a
maximum temperature of 83F was hit by the 1:00 P.M. EST observation.
The temperature overnight only sank down to 59F, which is 3F above
the normal minimum temperature. If temperatures do not rise any higher
than 83F or go lower than 59F today, then today will be 6F warmer
than normal.

Winds have been out of the west today. Clouds have been increasing,
with a layer of broken cumulus and scattered cirrus by 1:00 P.M.
Relative humidity decreased from 60% at 7:00 A.M. to 38% at 1:00 P.M.
Visibility was lowered by distant haze that lingered in the area all day.
