MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
SATURDAY, JANUARY 4, 2025
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0713E
SUNSET: 1625E
MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS, REMAINING BREEZY….
Aside from being a bit colder, today’s weather is similar to
yesterday’s, as the synoptic pattern remains largely unchanged.
Skies have featured a mix of sunshine and clouds. Virga in the
distance to our E-SE at the 10am observation suggests some flurries
could have been flying out that way for a brief time this morning.
Temperatures are on the cold side and have been slow to rise, thanks to
cold advection with the west-northwest flow. We began the morning in the
low 20s, and have only made it to the upper 20s by the early afternoon.
The dew point has fallen a touch and is now in the low teens.
Winds slowed overnight, but began picking up again after sunrise. In
recent hours, winds have been frequently gusting 25-30mph. The average
speed for the day is 15mph. Our peak gust occurred just before 12:30pm
at 37mph.
Visibility has been decent, with views extending 50-70 miles.
The maximum temperature for today is 29F degrees, which is 7 degrees
below the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 22F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 20F.
