“Run for the Roses” Fundraiser on May 7, 2016
The Blue Hill Observatory cordially invites you to celebrate the 142nd Kentucky Derby at our “Run for the Roses” Fundraiser on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at West End Johnnies, located at 138 Portland Street in Boston, from 4 to 7 PM. (Note- Restaurant was changed to accommodate band and give more space for attendees).
West End Johnnies boasts many large screen TVs for ease in viewing the Derby, as well as personally autographed pictures and genuine memorabilia of your favorite movie stars, politicians, athletes and musicians. Entertainment will be provided by one of Boston’s best cover bands, The Rolling Who? A full band featuring tunes you know from the 1960’s through today’s rock and pop
The festivities will include both live and silent auctions, a “Spirited” hat contest with judges Jonathan Soroff from the Improper Bostonian and news correspondent, Janet Wu, friendly wagering and of course, Derby viewing. Varied ‘Southern’ appetizers will be served.

4:30PM: Silent auction opens
5:00PM: Remarks by event Emcee, LIVE Auction, Hat Contest
6:00PM: Silent auction closes
6:24PM: Derby begins
7:00PM: Event closes
Tickets: $75.00 – One Regular ticket*, (Save $9.75 per ticket when buying two or more regular tickets*),
