High pressure continued to climb through this morning,
reaching a sea level pressure reading of 30.38 inches
of mercury by the 10:00 AM EST observation.

Visibility has remained impressive and varying between
70 and 80 miles in most directions since yesterday morning.

Major precipitation continues to elude Great Blue Hill as
the monthly deficit has fallen to -0.81 inches for the
first week of September, and -4.65 now for the year. With 3/4
of September left there is still plenty of time for precipitation,
though it is interesting to note the lowest monthly
precipitation on record for September at Blue Hill is 0.45 inch
recorded in 1914.
