Today has been a splendid early September day with plenty of
sunshine, slightly above seasonal temperatures, and very comfortable
humidity levels. Skies have been clear for the most part today with
only a few high clouds passing to the distant north and east during
the morning, and a few pop-up fair weather cumulus this afternoon.
Today has been a perfect day for any outdoor activities on this
Labor Day!
As mentioned, temperatures are slightly above normal after a fairly
chilly start. The low this morning was in the low 50s (which was
below normal for this time of year), but readings quickly recovered
reaching the upper 70s by early this afternoon. Dew point values
have been holding in the low to mid 50s through the day, so the air
mass is very pleasant.
Winds have been a bit busy today generally out of the northwest to
north-northwest. The average speed for the day so far is around
12mph. Gusts have been occasionally exceeding 20mph all day. The
peak gust so far for the day is 24mph, which occurred just before
6am this morning.
Visibility has been fairly steady at around 50-60 miles throughout
the day. All in all, it’s been a wonderful weather day all around.
The maximum temperature so far today is 79F, which is 3 degrees
above the normal high of 76F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 52F, which is 7 degrees below the normal low of 59F.
