LIGHT RAIN EARLY THIS MORNING MOVED OUT; OVERCAST SKIES REMAIN….
Some light rain moved through the area overnight, but it really
didn’t amount to much for us here at Blue Hill. Only 0.03″ was
measured, leaving us well below normal for the month and year
to date in the precipitation department.
Skies have remained cloudy all day today, which has in turn
kept temperatures well below expected values for the date in
terms of maximum readings. With higher humidity levels, it didn’t
get as cool last night as the prior nights over the weekend.
Temperatures started the day in the low to mid 60s, but have only
risen to the low 70s by early this afternoon. Dew point values
however have been creeping up through the day from the low 60s
this morning to the mid 60s by early this afternoon.
Winds were gusty overnight into the early morning hours of today,
however the trend this afternoon has been diminishing speeds.
A southerly flow has averaged at around 12mph for the day so far,
but has gone light in the last hour or two. The peak gust for the
day occurred around 5:15am this morning with a speed of 28mph.
Visibility has been somewhat limited due to thin fog early this
morning, and then just haziness thereafter. The view has mainly
been between 30-35 miles throughout the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 72F, which is 8 degrees
below the normal high of 80F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 63F, which is normal for the date.
