TEMPERATURES RISE TO THE LOW 70’S WITH VERY GUSTY WINDS
PEAK WIND GUSTS CLOSE TO 60 MPH SSW EARLY AFTERNOON
MORNING LOW OF 55F WOULD EQUAL RECORD HIGH MINIMUM
The high temperature of 73F was far below the record high
of 80F set this date in 1945.
Winds from the SSW have been steadily increasing with gusts
well past 50 MPH by noon and a 2-minute average reached
44 MPH according to ASOS from SSW at 2:16 P.M.
ASOS had recorded a peak of 59 MPH from SSW at 2:16 P.M. EDT
Our 420C system has recorded 54 MPH. A couple other recorders
have gusts to 58 to 63 MPH.
We still could equal the record high minimum of 55F which
was recorded early this morning.
