A COOLER DAY THAN YESTERDAY WITH AGAIN FAVORABLE
FALL WEATHER CONDITIONS….

We observed amazing weather today, with visibility of 85 miles
and nearly cloudless skies despite an increase in cloud cover
around 10 A.M. A cool northwesterly breeze was coming in at around
10 mph on average with frequent gusts around 15 mph. Combined with
dew points in the low 40’s and temperatures below 70F, this is the
makings of great hiking weather.

The drought monitor showed fewer areas of extreme drought today,
with everywhere but the north shore area being out of that
category. The observatory is still showing a deficit of -10.07
inches on the year with a surplus of 0.96 inches on the month
so far.

The high so far today is 69F, which is 4 degrees below the
normal maximum of 73F. The low since midnight is 47F, which is
9 degrees below the normal minimum of 56F.
