DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
CLOUDS, HUMIDITY, HAZE DOMINATE ANOTHER DAY…
Today has been a close mirror to yesterday.
Overnight precipitation amounted to a measly
0.03 inches bringing the 24-hour total to 0.04.
This continues a below average May at -1.03 inches
for the month, and -2.54 inches for the year. We
truly need a decent rain event to chip away at this
deficit and to also bring down the pollen count.
With high pollen levels combined with dew points
in the upper-60s, visibility continues to take a
hit – 35 miles at best today. Skies remained mostly
cloudy throughout the day with some minor splashes of
sun and here, but they were far and few. Winds
have notably increased this afternoon topping
out so far at 37 MPH as a cold front approaches!
The high so far today is 76F, this is 6 degrees
above the daily normal high of 70F. The low since
midnight is 66F, which is 14 degrees above the daily
normal low of 52F.
