A STUNNING START TO THE WEEKEND WITH LOWER DEW POINTS
AND BREEZY CONDITIONS TODAY ON GREAT BLUE HILL….

After last night’s passing showers the wind shifted to a WNW
flow which brought cooler, crisp air to the area. The overnight
temperatures reached below 60F which made this morning feel like
autumn! Mostly clear skies were prevalent with some cumulus
beginning to fill in once the temperatures warmed up a bit.
Overall though, it’s been a fantastic day with lower dew points,
a cool breeze, and bright warm sunshine.

Dew points have stayed in the upper 50s today which is indicative
of the cooler, dry air. Despite a day full of sunshine, we have
just made it to the normal high temperature of 82F. We are long
away from the daily record high of 97F thankfully!

The wind has been relatively steady today with an average speed
of around 11mph. Winds have been from the NW and NNW for most of
the day. The peak gust for the day so far is 25mph, which occurred
just after noon.

Visibility has been holding steady between 60-70 miles for most
of the day, thanks in part to the lower dew points. By the
afternoon a thin layer of smoke was seen to the WSW-NW which
slightly impacted visibility to about 50 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 82F, which is equal to
the normal high. The minimum temperature since midnight is 59F,
which is 5 degrees below the normal low of 64F.
