GREAT BLUE HILL….

Today was mostly cloudy, but with the majority
of cloud cover being thin and high cirrostratus.
A nice sea breeze was blowing in from the northeast
at around 15 mph, keeping weather conditions
favorable at the observatory. Visibility was limited
by haze, only reaching 35 miles. The air has dried
out as the day went on, with a humidity of 46% and
a dew point of 58 at the 1 P.M. observation. This
is notably dryer than earlier this week, when dew
points were in the 70’s.

The summit of Blue Hill is reaching a drought, with
the monthly rain total being 1.61 inches below
normal. Supporting evidence is the annual rain
deficit of -3.53 inches.

The high so far today is 82F, 2 degrees above the
daily normal maximum of 80F. The low since midnight
is 68F, 6 degrees above the normal minimum of 62F.
