“Sometimes, we take for granted the rich relationship between weather and the Boston area. Not every town and city in America can claim they’ve been meticulously watching, recording, and most importantly – loving the workings of nature for so long. Weather is part of the fabric of our society in New England and has helped to chisel our personalities and resolve with each nor’easter, blizzard, tornado, and hurricane. That’s why Blue Hill Observatory is so important. Not just because of the myriad stories it has to tell over the decades, but its importance as a steady climate site for over 130 years. We should all pitch in to make sure it’s there to look over the next century of storms and beyond.”
