PLENTY OF SUNSHINE WITH WARM TEMPERATURES AND DECENT HUMIDITY
LEVELS TODAY….
Plenty of sunshine is the theme today with only a few high thin
cirrus clouds streaming in from the west and northwest. Some
puffy cumulus clouds have also popped up early this afternoon
adding some decoration and contrast to the sky.
Temperatures have warmed into the mid 80s by early this afternoon,
which is a bit above normal for late August. Dew point levels
have been holding around 60F. This is a bit more humid than
yesterday, but it still doesn’t feel too bad out there, especially
for this time of year.
The wind was a bit busy overnight, then relaxed a bit during the
morning hours. It has picked up once again as the atmosphere is
mixing with day time heating early this afternoon. It has been
generally blowing out of the southwest and south-southwest,
averaging at around 10mph for the day so far. The peak gust so
far is 22mph, which occurred around 12:25am this morning, and
again around 12:05pm.
Visibility started the day around 40 miles, but improved to
around 60 miles by late morning. So we have a pretty decent view
out there today!
The maximum temperature so far today is 85F degrees, which is
6 degrees above the normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 60F degrees, which is 2 degrees below the
normal low of 62F.
