BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
FRIDAY, JULY 25, 2025
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0430E
SUNSET: 1911E
HUMID CONDITIONS PERSIST, HITTING 90s TODAY….
We have had plenty of sunshine today, and while the
temperatures started in the mid 70s, they quickly warmed
under the heat advisory we were under throughout the day.
By the final observation we had hit 93F which is only 3
degrees shy of our record, set in 2016.
As mentioned, temperatures have reached the 90s with the
dew point rising from the 69F to the mid 70s by early this
afternoon. With this combination of temperatures we had heat
indices from the mid 90s to hitting over 100F by 1pm.
The wind has remained steady again today, with a west-southwest
flow for much of the day. The average speed for the day so far
is around 12mph. The peak gust of 24mph occurred just after 1pm
with the arrival of a thunderstorm.
Due to the extreme heat and humid conditions, visibility has
been pretty abysmal. We have hovered between 30-25 miles for
much of the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 93F degrees, which is
9 degrees above the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 69F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the normal
low of 64F.
