MUGGY CONDITIONS, SPOTTY SHOWERS TODAY….

Today has been mild with mostly cloudy skies today. We have seen
periods of brief sunshine, which have only resulted in increasing
clouds and the risk of spotty showers. We did receive a trace of
rain early this afternoon so far. The air has been very muggy today.

Temperatures have been mild today, which is part of the reason for
the spotty showers in the area. The overnight low was 57F and after
the sun came out, we quickly made it up to 74F before increasing
clouds moved in and cooled things down slightly. The dew points have
been in the low 60s all day which has made it feel very muggy. Only
the late morning breeze has given us any relief, even though it’s
out of the SW so the air is quite warm.

Winds were on the light side for most of the morning but started to
increase as unsettled weather made its way into the area by late
morning. Winds have been mostly out of the SW and SSW. The average
speed for the day so far is around 10mph. The peak gust of 27mph
occurred at 12:43pm this afternoon.

Visibility has been impacted by the high dew point, giving us hazy
conditions all throughout the day. This morning there was a thin
smoke layer, but dissipated by mid morning. We have varied between
10-25 miles of visibility today.

The maximum temperature for today is 74F degrees, which is 4 degrees
above the normal high of 70F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 57F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the normal low of 52F.
