A WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE AND MILD TEMPERATURES….
Today is featuring mainly clear skies with plenty of bright sunshine,
mild temperatures, and a light onshore wind. High thin cirrus clouds
can be seen encroaching in the distance from the south through
west and northwest. Also a fog bank is lurking right along the
coast early this afternoon with parts of it even getting into the
easternmost portions of Boston for at times.
Temperatures bottomed out in the mid 30s once again this morning,
recovering to the low 50s early this afternoon. These values are a
bit above normal for the date, so all in all it’s quite a nice day
out there. The dew point is a bit higher today thanks to the ocean
flow with readings rising through the 30s to 40F as the day has
progressed.
The wind is generally on the light side with an average speed for
the day so far around 9mph. It’s been mainly out of the northeast,
but became a bit more variable as we moved into the late morning
hours. The peak gust for the day is 18mph, which occurred around
3:15am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent again today, starting at around 70
miles, then dipping to around 60 mile by mid to late morning.
However a fog bank lurking offshore had reduced visibility to
around 12-20 miles from the NNE to ESE sectors.
The maximum temperature for today is 52F degrees, which is 7 degrees
above the normal high of 45F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 34F degrees, which is 6 degrees above the normal low of 28F.
