QUICK SHOT OF ARCTIC AIR TODAY, BUT WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE…

An arctic front pushed through yesterday afternoon with some rain and
snow showers accompanying it. None of the precipitation was enough to
be measurable however. Once the front passed through, the dew point
shot down rapidly from the 20s to the teens by last evening, and
continued into the single digits by early this morning.

Today is featuring plenty of sunshine, but it’s ineffective as the
temperatures have only recovered to the mid 20s by early this
afternoon.

Winds are still busy today, but not as strong as the past couple of
days. The speeds have been averaging around 15mph for the day so far,
frequent gusts of 20-30mph have been occurring through the day with a
peak gust so far of 35mph, which occurred just after the 1pm
observation.

Visibility is excellent today with the view increasing from 50 miles
early this morning to around 80 miles by early this afternoon.

The maximum temperature for today is 26F degrees, which is 9 degrees
below the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 16F degrees, which is 1 degree below the normal low of 17F.
