WARM AND WINDY CONDITIONS ON BLUE HILL TODAY….

An overall nice day today on Great Blue Hill, with mostly clear
skies and warm temperatures throughout the day. Wind has been
very active and dry today, though it’s been very pleasant overall.

Overnight temperatures were more mild, with temperatures in the
low 50’s. We quickly warmed up to 70F by late morning. It hasn’t
felt as warm, mostly because of the gusty winds, and the extremely
low dew point values.

Winds increased this morning with the passing of a front in our
region. Winds were quite gusty in the mid morning hours, with gusts
typically in the 20-25mph range. Wind has mostly been out of the
NW and WNW, bringing warm, dry air to the area. Our average so far
is around 16mph for the day and the peak gust so far for the day
occurred around 12:30pm at about 43 mph.

Visibility started around 40 miles and improved to 70 miles, mostly
due to the low dew point and clear skies.

The maximum temperature so far today is 70F, which is 12 degrees above
the normal high of 62F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 52F,
which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 45F.
