THE HEAT CONTINUES, LOWER WINDS, AND NEAR RECORD TEMPS….

Another warm day as the region deals with another day nearing the
90F mark. Lower winds have not been helpful in finding relief from
the heat, however, the dew points stayed in the 60’s today which
is an improvement from the 70’s we were dealing with earlier this
week. It’s still an uncomfortable day to be outside for long periods
of time so hopefully everyone is staying cool.

Winds have been on the light side today, mostly after the wind
shifted yesterday evening. The average speed so far is 9mph,
with a bit more steady wind this afternoon. The peak gust so far
for the day occurred this morning after 1:00am at around 25mph.

Visibility has been marginally better today with about 40 miles
for most of the day. As the temperature increased in the early
afternoon the hazy conditions returned and impacted visibility to
around 30 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 87F, which is 5 degrees
above the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 71F, which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 64F.
