BLUSTERY AND COOLER IN THE WAKE OF YESTERDAY’S STORM….
Clouds were the theme this morning with a blustery wind and
cool temperatures. More breaks in the cloud cover developed
as we approached the midday hour and into early this afternoon,
however, more cloud cover can be seen moving into the area at
the time of this discussion.
The temperature has been slow to rise today, in part due to the
cold air advection, but also due to the abundance of clouds
during the first half of the day. Readings have reached the low
40s early this afternoon, after starting the day in the mid 30s.
Winds have been busy today with an average speed of around 16mph.
There have been frequent gusts all day between 25-40mph. The
peak gust so far has been 44mph, which occurred just before
4:30am this morning.
Visibility has been very good today, improving from 50 miles
early this morning to around 60 miles by early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 43F degrees, this is 8
degrees above the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature
so far since midnight is 35F degrees, this is 16 degrees above
the normal low of 19F.
