OVERCAST AND COOLER WITH PERIODS OF RAIN AND DRIZZLE TODAY…

We haven’t seen a weather day like this for quite some time.
Cool, breezy, and wet with onshore flow along with periods
of rain and drizzle. A weak area of low pressure is passing
to the south of the region today, giving us a bit of a
nor’easter vibe. Rainfall has been fairly healthy with 0.71″
falling for the event so far, 0.30″ of which has fallen in
the 6 hours between 7am and 1pm.

As mentioned, it’s on the cooler side today with the high for
the day occurring around midnight, otherwise it’s been holding
in the mid 60s all day.

The wind has been generally out of the east to northeast with
an average speed for the day so far has been around 9mph.
However frequent gusts over 20mph have been occurring today.
The highest gust so far has been around 28mph.

Visibility has of course been limited today with the rain,
drizzle, and fog. It has dropped from around 6 miles early
this morning to a 1/4 mile or less early this afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today has been 70F, which is
11 degrees below the normal high for today of 81F. The minimum
temperature since midnight is 64F, which is 1 degree above
the normal low of 63F.
