A MIX OF CLOUDS AND SUN TODAY, A BIT COLDER, AND STILL BRISK…

Varying amounts of sunshine and cloud cover has been the theme
today with spokes of moisture pinwheeling around the large ocean
storm lurking near Nova Scotia. A brisk north-northwesterly wind
is also continuing, thanks in part to this low pressure system
keeping a pressure gradient over the region.

The air is a bit colder today than it was yesterday, as the storm
is also responsible for transporting a colder air mass down from
northeast Canada. Temperatures have only made it to the mid 30s,
but with the wind, it feels more like the mid to upper 20s!

The wind has been quite gusty out of a northwest to north-
northwest direction. The average speed for the day so far is
around 13mph. Frequent gusts over 20mph have been occurring with
a peak so far of 30mph.

Visibility has been excellent with views of around 70-80 miles all
day. We can see the snow covered top of Mt. Monadnock in SW New
Hampshire pretty clearly!

The high so far today is 38F, which is 3 degrees below the normal
maximum of 41F. The low since midnight is 29F, which is 5 degrees
above the normal low of 24F.
