EARLY CLOUDS AND A FEW SNOWFLAKES, OTHERWISE SUNNY AND COLD…

A few very light snow flakes were observed early this morning,
but it wasn’t even enough to coat the ground. Otherwise, clouds
quickly cleared out this morning with plenty of sunshine being
the theme for the balance of the day.

Despite the bright sunshine, temperatures have remained mainly
in the 20s here on the summit with a high of 30F briefly occurring
after the 1pm observation. Today will likely be the first below
normal day since January 11th (which was the only below normal day
for all of January).

Thankfully, the wind is a non-factor today (ie no real wind
chill issues). The average speed for the day has been around
6mph.

Visibility has been excellent all day holding at around 80 miles.

The high so far today is 30F degrees, which is 5 degrees below
the normal maximum of 35F. The low since midnight is 18F degrees,
which is 1 degree above the normal minimum of 17F.
