BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2022
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0659E
SUNSET: 1612E
OVERCAST AND BREEZY, BUT CONTINUED ON THE MILD SIDE….
Clouds have been the theme today, starting out the day
thin enough for some filtered sunshine, but thickening
and lowering as the day progresses. Despite the lack
of sunshine, the temperature has pushed into the low to
mid 50s this afternoon.
In addition to the mild temperatures, the air mass has
also moistened up compared to yesterday. The dew point
today has been hanging out in the low 40s for the most
part. This has created a dampness in the air, which
when combined with the breeze, creates a bit of a chilly
feel.
As mentioned the wind has been on the breezy side out of
a southeast to south-southeasterly direction. The average
speed so far for today is around 18mph. The peak gust
thus far has been 30mph occurring between 9-10am. Gusts
have been frequently in the 25-30mph range all day.
Visibility has been reduced all day due to the increased
moisture content of the air. We’ve only been able to see
30-35 miles all day.
The high so far today is 54F, which is 11 degrees above
the normal maximum of 43F. The low since midnight is 38F,
which is 10 degrees above the normal low of 28F.
