INCREASING CLOUDS AND HUMIDITY WITH A SOUTHERLY BREEZE….
We certainly have had some very fine early fall weather the
last couple of days. However today is featuring increasing
amounts of cloud cover as a warm front approaches the region.
While the temperature is still quite pleasant reaching the mid
to upper 60s, the dew point has been creeping up all day from
the mid 40s early this morning to the mid 50s early this
afternoon.
A southerly breeze has been picking up a bit as well helping
to transport a more moisture laden air mass into the area.
We are expecting more showers and perhaps some thunderstorms
later this afternoon and especially this evening. While we’re
certainly doing better in terms of rainfall than we were all
summer, we are still running a significant deficit for the
year. The annual deficit is at -9.98 inches, despite the
month of September seeing a 1.05″ surplus!
The high so far today is 67F, which is 2 degrees below the
normal maximum of 69F. The low since midnight is 50F, which is
2 degrees below the normal minimum of 52F.
