MORNING CLOUDS GIVE WAY TO AFTERNOON SUNSHINE, WARM AND DRIER….

After the mugginess the past couple of days, today a drier
air mass is being ushered in on a west-northwest breeze. The
dew point was well into the mid and upper 60s yesterday, but
has been falling through the 50s all morning into this afternoon.
The reading at the 1pm observation is down to 50F. Splendid for
early July for sure.

The temperature has responded nicely with the departure of morning
clouds and arrival of abundant sunshine. Readings have risen into
the low 80s early this afternoon.

A nice west-northwest breeze has increased a bit early this
afternoon with gusts upwards to 25mph occurring. The average
speed for the day so far is around 10mph.

Visibility has been increasing through the day, starting off
around 60 miles this morning, increasing to 80 miles by early this
afternoon. Again, not what you’d expect in early July!

Rainfall yesterday totalled 0.25 inches with 2 separate periods
of showers, one in the pre-dawn hours and again in the evening.
Thunder was also recorded during both periods as well.

The high so far today is 82F, which is 1 degree above the
normal maximum of 81F. The low since midnight is 65F, which
is 2 degrees above the normal minimum of 63F.
