REFRESHINGLY DRY AND PLEASANT FOLLOWING A GOOD SOAKING YESTERDAY….
Yesterday’s cold front brought a good slug of rain with it to
parts of the region. Here on the hill 0.84″ of rain was left
in the gauge, making this the biggest single rain event for the
month to date. It was definitely a welcomed drink of water!
Today we’re seeing plenty of sunshine for the most part with
some diurnal cumulus popping late this morning into this
afternoon. Temperatures are well into the 70s, but the best
part is the dew point, which has dropped into the low 50s.
Very pleasant air for late June!
The wind was a bit gusty early this morning with the cold air
advection, but has since diminished to light speeds. The peak
gust was way back just after midnight with a value of 22mph.
The average speed for the day so far is around 9mph.
Visibility has been excellent today. We’ve been able to see 70-80
miles all day.
The high so far today is 78F, which is 1 degree below the
normal maximum of 79F. The low since midnight is 55F, which
is 7 degrees below the normal minimum of 62F.
