BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
FRIDAY, JUNE 3, 2022
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0409E
SUNSET: 1916E
NOT MUCH CHANGE SINCE YESTERDAY…STILL GLOOMY
A passing sprinkle was all we could muster atop the hill
overnight as the swath of heavy rain confined itself to
Connecticut. So far today, we’ve managed just 0.05″ from a
scattered line of passing showers – this time the heaviest
precip landed to our north in SE New Hampshire and SW Maine.
The summit was shrouded in fog through the overnight hours
to until noon time today. Given that, visibility held at 1/16
of a mile during that period before improving to 20 miles by
the 1PM observation. Winds continue to flow off the chilly Atlantic
yielding a failed attempt thus far at achieving the 60F mark.
Looking towards the weekend, however, it appears we’ll shake
the clouds and cool temps in exchange for abundant sunshine
and temperatures in the mid-70s!
The high so far today is 59F, which is 12 degrees below the
normal maximum of 71F. The low since midnight is 52F, which
2 degrees below the normal minimum of 54F.
