BREEZY AND COOLER TODAY WITH MUCH LESS HUMIDITY….

A brief thunderstorm moved through last evening along the
leading edge of cooler/drier air. Only 0.07″ of rain
resulted however, so the dry beat continues. For the month
we’re running a deficit of -1.21″ and for the year that
deficit is up to -3.71″.

Today started with clear skies and a boat load of sunshine,
however instability of the day leading to the development of
cumulus clouds which have grown into rain showers. A shower
was ongoing here on the hill at the 1 P.M. observation,
however only a trace of rain was realized.

Temperatures today briefly shot up to the mid 70s, but as
the clouds increased, they fell back a bit to around 70,
then dipped further to the mid 60s during the rain shower.

Dew point readings have been in the 40s today, making it feel
so much better than yesterday when the dew point was in the
low to mid 60s.

As mentioned, it’s been breezy today with gusty winds out of
the west the theme most of the day. The average speed for
the day is around 16mph. A peak gust of 43mph is the max so
far occuring before noon.

Visibility has been holding between 40-50 miles most of the
day.

The high so far today is 74F, which is 7 degrees above the
normal maximum of 67F. The low since midnight is 53F, which
is 4 degrees above the normal minimum of 49F.
