STILL WINDY AND STILL COOL UNDER MAINLY SUNNY SKIES….
The weather has been like a broken record it seems for the
last few days. Today is once again featuring a good deal of
sunshine through high thin cirrus clouds at times. The busy
wind off the chilly ocean also continues.
The average speed for the day has been around 17mph with a peak
gust of 44 mph.
Despite the sun, the air remains chilly with readings generally
in the mid to upper 50s.
The air is also quite dry with the dew point sitting below the
freezing mark all day, as low as 24F at the 1 P.M. observation.
This dry air along with the gusty wind is continuing the enhanced
fire risk once again today.
Visibility has been gradually improving through the day, starting
at 40 miles this morning and reaching around 60 miles this
afternoon.
The high so far today is 57F, which is 8 degrees below the
normal maximum of 65F. The low since midnight is 43F, which
is 4 degrees below the normal minimum of 47F.
