PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A DECENT VIEW FROM THE SUMMIT….
Today we observed partly cloudy skies with an average visibility
of 65 miles. Wind was a little under 10 mph, with a max gust
around 16 mph. We are seeing an increase in wind speed
since 1 P.M. in conjunction with a pressure drop of 2 millibars.
The surfaces of Houghton’s and Ponkapoag are frozen, but thinner
in spots around noon. Ice skating or any recreation on either
water body are still not recommended.
Yesterday in 2015, the snowfall record for the month was set
at 25.2 inches. Makes us wonder if that record will be beat
this weekend!
The high so far today is 24F, this is 10 degrees below the normal
high of 34F. The low since midnight is 3F, which is 14 degrees
below the normal minimum of 17F.
