ROLLER-COASTER RIDE CONTINUES, WINDY AND “WARM” TODAY ON THE HILL….
Another cold front is approaching the region and promises to push
through this evening. However before then, a strong push of warmer
air has overspread the area.
A warm front moved through early this morning accompanied by some
mainly light rain showers. Temperatures rose starkly from the mid
40s to the upper 50s. The dew point also took a jump into the 50s,
making it feel a tad sticky, especially compared to the dry air
of recent days.
The rain showers this morning only amounted to 0.10″ total, 0.08″
of which fell up to 7 A.M.
In addition to the warm air, windy conditions are also being
observed. The average speed for the day so far is around 19mph with
a peak gust of 41 mph so far. Frequent gusts between 35-40mph have
been occurring since mid to late morning here on the summit.
The high so far today is 58F, which is 15 degrees above the normal
max of 43F. The low since midnight is 37F, 9 degrees above the
normal low of 28F.
