Fog and drizzle kept the summit thoroughly moist yesterday,
while heavy rain showers entered the area yesterday evening
brought torrential downpours in some locations. By 6:00 PM EST
last evening, heavy rain showers brought a quick 0.39 inches
of new rain in less than one hour.
Skies cleared out overnight, bringing cooler and drier air in
its wake. Temperatures dipped to a slightly cooler than normal
53F by 6:00 AM EST this morning. Winds have kicked up as well,
with gusts exceeding 30 MPH from the W as low stratocumulus
have begun to build in from the W as well.
By the 1:00 PM EST observation stratocumulus were broken in all
directions with an isolated pop-up shower visible approximately
40 miles WNW of the station. Cool temperatures had yet to reach
the 70F mark today.
