BUILDING IN THE AREA…
Rainfall Friday morning and early afternoon brought a
total of 0.63 inches of rain, the first precipitation
of the month. An early overcast of stratocumulus today
moved off by mid-morning leaving a partly sunny sky.
The dew point climbed to the upper 60s by 10 AM EST,
and the temperature climbed to the low 80s by early
afternoon. At the 1 PM EST observation, moderate and
towering cumulus were approaching from the WNW-NW,
though the associated thunderstorms passed well to
the NW-N of the summit from 1-2:30 PM EST. After the
passage of the thunderstorms, the visibility to the
northwest climbed to 75 miles, though the dew point
remained in the middle 60s.
