HIGH PRESSURE BRINGS WARM, CLEAR DAY
Conditions have drastically changed today with the arrival
of high pressure over the region. Temperatures had reached
a maximum temp. of 75F by 1:00PM compared to yesterday’s
max. temp. of 67F. Skies were clear during the morning
observations with few higher level clouds. Cumulus began
to form in the late morning and became scattered by after-
noon. The clearing conditions also allowed for excellent
visibility today at 70 miles.
Yesterday’s average temperature of only 62F was 10F below
normal and resulted in July’s monthly temperature departure
dipping below zero for the first time this month. As of
midnight, the cumulative temperature departure for July
is 7F below normal, or -0.4 degrees per day.
