DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ANOTHER HAZY, HOT, AND HUMID ON TOP OF GREAT BLUE HILL…

We had a close to record breaking above normal temperature
day, so far with an overnight low of 75F. If temperatures
do not reach below 75F by midnight then this we be a
record breaking high minimum temperature. The record of 74F
was set back in 1948. Our high maximum temperature so far
today is 94F, this is 1 degree below the daily record of 95F
set back in 1953. Although we had a lingering haze in the
area, visibility increased from 20 miles to 35 miles by
1:00 P.M. This was due to a drop in humidity down to 46%
at 1:00 P.M. Dew points remained high today being 72F for
most of our observations but did drop for a bit down to
69F around 1:00 P.M. Wind from the SW was light in the
morning but became moderate in the afternoon with a few
gusts so far of 22 kts (25 MPH). Cloud cover also increased
as we saw a drop in pressure throughout the day and we had
scattered cumulus and cirrostratus at our 1:00 P.M.
observation.
